Position
This role will be involved in shaping and developing the safety culture across the organisation, pulling together information to ensure HSE compliance is met as well as focusing on the Return-To-Work process for injured employees. You will be responsible for championing safety procedures, building a safety culture within the business while leading projects/critical risks, reporting, conducting audits and overall supporting the implementation of programs and safety initiatives.
The ideal experience would be someone with a 'can-do' attitude, who also has the ability to work autonomously as well as in a collaborative team. Experience managing stakeholders within a high risk environment/manufacturing or on an industrial site across blue collar, is also highly desirable.
Requirements
- Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety, required or equivalent.
- Previous experience working in a safety role, managing health, safety, environment within a complex organisation, implementing systems and driving HSE strategies and risk reduction.
- A practical approach with strong knowledge of legislative requirements in safety and chain of responsibility.
- Ability to problem solve, use judgement, and make appropriate decisions.
- Ideal experience in Return-To-Work, and be able to manage the process for injured employees.
- Demonstrated change management skills through the use of systems improvement and engaging with stakeholders.
- Preferable experience working within manufacturing or a blue collar environment/on an industrial site.
- Ideally live in the region of South West Sydney & M5 Corridor area or be willing to either travel/relocate, as this role will mainly be based on-site for 5 days a week, with possible flexibility options.
- Must be Australian based with full working rights.
